Melbourne is different from perth I won't say better as although I moved away from perth to escape it's boringness sometimes all I want is the calm and ease of Perth life. I miss many parts of Perth including the beach, northbridge violence and mates, however there are also parts I don't miss. I don't miss the fact that we have the lowest combined IQ of all of Australia because it pays more to drop out of school and shovel shit than to study. I sure as hell don't miss the fact that it is a prison with no means of weekend escape and I don't miss the cultural events that are staged there (we have a choice of fremantle or west coast.)

Anyways lets forget about my negative rants about Perth and start focusing on the positivnes of Melbs. Melbourne is much more down to Earth than Perth and Sydney for one and substance defintley has way over style. Although Ferraris run rampant in this town there is a certain feeling of cosmopolitanism in this town especially in the Chappell street to St Kilda areas.

There are old school style out door recreation areas which have a certain feel of friendliness to them especially Prahrans Playground which has world class skate ramps and an awesome basketball court where you are almost gauranteed to get a run, none of this oh there aren't enough people to play buisness.

All in all however I think I have lost a lot of my spark to write and can't wait to go back to University whether it is in June this year or January next year. I love the feel of renting my own place and finally growing up, although me by myself gets pretty alone. I miss my little brothers rants and his general sense of discontentness about life while his best friend acts runs into walls grabs his head and goes ow my arm, meanwhile he is not crying but laughing his ass off.

Meanwhile woohooo this is exciting tommorow I move into my own place and start to live my own life woohoo (done in half hearted tone.)

anyways

Anyways I havent been blogging for a long time thanx to igzams, loss of motivations and what not. Here's a quick recap of why the past 24 hours have been so significant.

Phil Jackson's induction into the hall of fame: Just in case you haven't watched basketball for the past 15 years and haven't been living within the world of media confinement the legend that is Phil jackson finally got his due.

If you are one of these people I will put you up to speed. Phil jackson is a man who has been the tsar of coaching for the past 16 years. There are 30 teams in the nba and each team contains over 5-6 coaches all working together to create the perfect team and set up the perfect play and systems, and 9 times out of the past 16 phil jackson has been the man to take out the whole competition.

Furthermore he was the one who coached four of the greatest players in the moder era to where they are today in Jordan, Pippen, O'neal and Bryant.

Back to the Hall of fame thing now. In all of nba history only one coach has won more championships, and unfortunatly that man (Red Auerbach) died in january 2007 leaving jackson as the current record holder in terms of alive coaches. Even though Jackson did not meet the pre-requisites to gain recognition as a head coach the hall decided ti waive it because he is just that good. Except for maybe Oscar Robertson oh look at me I have 11 chips as a player and in the last two I was so good I was both player and coach.

Anyways enough about Jackson his story is one of congratulations and recognition and the other guy/ team story in regards to joakim noah and the florida gators is better.

On the 4th of april 2007 the Florida gators won the NCAA championsip for a second time in a row becoming only the sixth team to do so. Although this feat is common in the world of pro-sports what you have to consider with college ball is that players have a maximum playing expectancy of 4 years, and therefore dynasties are highly rare. Furthermore a lot of these players are from relatively poor backgrounds and if they are good enough have tens of millions of dollars waved in there faces before they even bounce a ball in the nba.

such was the fate of joakim noah. In the 2006 March Madness tourney Noah a 6'11 power forward who was starting for the gators was unarguably the best player that the NCAA had seen in a long time. Since the time of Kevin Garnett the NCAA was relatively depraved for talent as ther was no rule barring players leaping straight from high school into college, Noah provided a refreshing change of pace. By the end of the tourney he was everywhere even slam had him on line of the month for averaging 18 ppg, 10 rpg, 5 bpg, 3 spg.

These numbers made him undoubtadley the most efficient player in the game with his kirolenko-esque type numbers that would propel him to super stardom, the question now was should he stay and finish college, or should he have opted for the nba with gauranteed top 5 pick and a shoe contract worth millions, the answer to him was simple money comes and goes college doesn't.

The real up turn to this story is that Noah is not actually all that good. For one he is too light to be a dominant big man and another factor is that he has limited range and fairly slow reactions, but then why was he tipped to go as high as number two or three behind Andrea Bargiani and Tyrus Thomas. Anyways since I dont want to blantantly plagarise his story here is a link to show why people like Joakim Noah help to bring back integrity to society.

To Joakim Noah, the chance to repeat was worth more than NBA millions available at: www.suntimes.com/sports/couch/312229,CST-SPT-greg25.article

My day on Letterman.

This story is in regards to my last week in the US which was spent in the best city in the world New York.

Anyways firstly to all you guys who haven't been to New York and don't believe in the hype go there yourself and findout or shut up. The trip was already awesome, (this will be told in parts) however the day of january 27th was particularly awesome. on this particular day I met up with my friend mei wan chow yun fat (I don't know her full name she's asian).

We decided to have lunch together and whilste walking along the New york grid on 47th and broadway we found some random smallish lady shouting out free letterman tickets at about 1pm. Initially my response was ok whatever as this is the normal attitude to have in New York since everyone has something to say and sell.

However as it turned out this lady wasn't talking frik or trying to sell something and genuinely had two tickets to the 25th anniversary special of letterman. The catch was that we had to know the profession of Robert Jee, and of course I knew who it was.

By 4.00pm we were in the CBS theatre and it was the most amazing experience, especially with paul schaeffer and the CBS orchestra blowing in our faces.

Anyways whats the point of blogging if I can't show you where I was and how it was so instead of telling you about lebron and bill murray I have added the youtube links so you can see what I was two meters away from.

enjoy.

ps: isn't it so unfair that lebron is so talented and also a very oily man.

Lebron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5OqoPxXLcM

Bill Murray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4Px_1h3J9A

Anyways enjoy what you didn't get to go to.

khareh koucholoo sociey

The khareh Koucholoo (kh-ar-eh koo-chew-lou) society will be having it's first annual meeting this week at whatever time people want to go to it. the following page is dedicated to getting socially conscious people to be more active in regards too their particular cause (whatever the hell that may be).

1. A brief background on the khareh Koucholoo society.

The khareh Koucholoo society war started during the 2004 exam timetable period by the over active brain of founding member nima khaze while visiting lowbrow.com . Although dolphinsex.org no longer exists it was instrumental in helping establish nima's idealogy of helping to get grass roots community activities initiatives started.

Today khareh koucholoo has one member (me); however it should be mentioned that at it's peak it encompassed several members and a fundraising pledge to place the khareh koucholoo as the official UWA mascot.

2. What is khareh koucholoo society.

Khareh koucholoo translated from the persian literally means small donkey. It should however be noted that it's exact translation is minature donkey.

The Society was initially set up as a marketing tool by Nima Khaze to sell obsolete computers which where initially designed in 1955 to study rat faecal matter. The society however did evolve into a much more advanced organization that was intrinsically designed to raise awareness into the plight of the minature donkey.

This was inspired by the sudden death of charles the initial khareh koucholoo. It should be duly noted that ex-UWA student and current high school teacher Carmel Croft may have devoured the Khar in a angry outburst of jealousy caused by the fact that the khar was more popular than her.

3. What does Khareh Koucholoo society do?

The Khareh Koucholoo society is heavily involved as an NGO into trying to show the world what the current plight of the minature donkey is. As an animal donkeys are the ultimate victims of being shown in a negative light and consistently have been degraded, I mean look at the following ways in which we see donkeys in a semiotic form.

-Mardeh khar: literally meaning donkey man, the term actually refers to a man who is stupid.

-symbol of the democratic party: only the elephant is shown in a more negative light.

-Eyeore: the donkey is a downer, (has also been compared to khareh koucholoo founder Nima khaze who's retardation status is questionable).

many more forms of semiotic misrepresenation are also evident in mass culture reading: see Habermas, Flint and El-sayed.

We should note that Khareh Koucholoo society is trying to rectify the current plight of the minature donkey by lobbying various governments and institutions to pay more attention too the plight of the minature donkey. As an organisation however we have faced many obstacles including non-recognition by organisations that claim they champion the rights of the oppressed such as the UN and Human Rights Watch.

Furthermore human discrimination against Khars isn't the only problem, we must also take into account the fact that they are small. In a recent animal nature episode involving mother bear and Knut the little baby bear we are often reminded that parents...especially animalistic ones often reject there kids. This is much more likely to happen to minature donkeys as they are often thought of as inferior to regular donkey by there parents.

4.How can you help.

By donating cash or even better by adopting a little minature donkey yourself and placing it in a park . By taking such actions you are ridding the world of homeless minature donkeys, and also providing the world with entertainment. to purchase a minature donkey just go to http://www.daisydowns.com/foalsforsale.html. we should however note that minature donkeys are not produced on a mass scale in oz and therefore more dear in price than US minature donkeys which are compartively cheaper.

5. Even though I am pushing middle age (22) i was accompanied by my rather immature 12 year old brother sam, and for this reason it rocked. let's just say that you couldn't wipe the smile off my face as the place was just like hell joyous (no i didn't have botox injections that leave my face paralysed). Anyways here are some pics of my fabulous trip.

hello khars

since I am just about the most socially awkward person in the world I have decided to start a blog just as a form to prove my existence........anyways where to begin except maybe of course my recent trip to the US and all the wonderful misconceptions about it.
